Meditation for Individuals Affected by Cancer

Participants will be introduced to mindfulness meditation, practice for mental calming and physical relaxation.

This will be developed through body awareness, and breath focused awareness as well as other experiential exercises involving gentle movement, breathing and guided imagery.

Participants are guided in developing skills to focus the mind and to cultivate a non-judgmental awareness of ongoing life events.

Meditation may help you to reduce the tension of the mind and body, and discover which techniques help to quiet your mind.

Many discover an enhanced appreciation of daily activity through this practice.

Meditation practices have evolved in all major religious traditions and some participants may find that this practice enriches their own spiritual or religious involvement.
