Volunteering at Wellwood

All programs at Wellwood are volunteer run.

Our volunteers undergo a rigorous screening process and orientation, which is a win/win for Wellwood and for our volunteers by ensuring a good fit between the individual and the volunteer role.  Our volunteer team is very well supported, and ongoing training and learning opportunities are offered.

We encourage involvement from everyone. As an inclusive Centre, we especially wish to reach out to communities of colour, the aboriginal community, refugees, immigrants, persons with a disability, transgendered individuals or those from the gay and lesbian community.

Wellwood is also firmly committed to recognizing and celebrating the many contributions of our more than 250 active volunteers.

If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering with us, please contact Tsehay Said, Manager of Volunteers & Scheduling, so that we can take the next step together!

What are the possibilities?

Volunteers are needed to assist with all of our programs and services. All are welcome, but a personal or family experience with cancer may enhance our volunteers' ability to fulfill their roles.

Opportunities exist for: peer support mentors; front desk volunteers; support group facilitators; committee members; outreach support; yoga instructors; support/assistants for yoga; and more.

There are SO many volunteer positions available at Wellwood!
